My neighbor has a new M7040 DTC and is temporarily laid up so I did his 50 hour service today. All went OK except I noticed the brake pedal went nearly to the floor. I had a friend go to a dealer to check a different M7040 and he said that pedal felt pretty low as well.
Anyone else with an M7040 with a really low brake pedal? How low--or high-- is your pedal? This one goes almost to the floor and did it since it was new.

If it stops the tractor, that is - the brakes work, it is probably not too serious. Just watch it.

It nearly bottoms out--maybe another half inch or so.

Mine travels quite a bit also. When you put on the brake lock does it lock on the first or second detent? As you push down on the brake hold the brake lock forward and you can feel the detents.

There is probably an adjustment somewhere that can be done. Just follow the linkage under the floorboard until a turnbuckle or something shows up.
