That's not a bad price but I have one question....what do you want a mid pto for. I wasn't aware that the 5030 came with a mid pto. There are no belly mowers that fit and besides the mid pto that Kubota has isn't a 6 spline 540 unit. It's Kubota's own proprietary spline dimension and it's 1000 rpm.

As far as the pallet forks, get them aftermarket. I have the Bobcat style quick detachable unit on my 5030 and my skid steer bucket and pallet forks go right on.

I little note....Don't get the material bucket with the LA853 loader. It's not stong enough. Get the H.D. round back bucket and the replaceable cutting edge.

I farm (do commercial forage) with my 5030. It's a nice tractor, but I tend to run it at it's upper limit when haying. In 600 + hours I have never had any mechanical problems.

Called a large dealer, he told me if I was in his store and he had one today, I'd be right at $31,975 with him. Not that much difference from local, so I guess this week it's going to happen and I can finally get it on it's way. The end of the beginning!

I hope you didn't pay extra for the radio hookup. The whole shebang is right there under the canopy. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I have found a Kubota L2062b sweeper that I believe runs off the mid PTO which is an option on the 5030.

I agree with you on the bucket, do you have any idea what the price difference is? My thought was to use it as a bargaining tool.

More than likely I did, I asked for the option so that the speakers and everything was ready for the radio when I put it in. Cost was about a $100. So what did I get for the money other than the speakers? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I hope you got the antenna. It mounts on the left hand upper door hinge (facing forward), feeds through a factory grommet into the canopy. It's a nice rubber-ducky one.

The wiring is already installed for the antenna/worklights (front and rear) and the speakers. I opted out of the Kubota radio....way to expensive. Put in a DIN chassis Clarion with CD/weatherband for about 1/3rd the price of the factory issue/dealer installed unit..

In so much as the worklights, well, mine went into the spare parts tub. They are somewhat weak. Replaced them with H3 halogen rectangular lights on the front. The rears are okay.

I just checked my workshop manual and the mid pto is not offered on the 5030.....I didn't think it was, but I wasn't sure last night so I checked this morning. Besides, a mid unit on the 5030 would be about as useful as snot in a hanky. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hope your air conditioning has been factory modified. If not, the summers heat will debilitate it.

Yes the antenna is installed, that was another reason for the radio kit.

The radio will be selected and installed in the spring when we get back and it is warmer out here.

Thought the rear worklights were great, the front worklights seemed ok also, but there was snow on the ground, and only about a half hour of use to check things out.

I think the front light and the rear lights are identical. I have a problem with the forward facing cab lights as well as the hood mounted lights out in the field. I know, this tractor really isn't intended for field work.....its intended for a well-to-do suburbanite to impress his neighbor with....but, field work is what I do with it.

The rear work lights are okay, I can see my implement and what it is actually doing and a little farther out in the field than that, but that is about it.

The front is a whole other story. I never run the loader in the field unless I am picking up rounds...I like the mount-dismount and I can get it done complete in about 1 minute. The hood lights are also weak, but not really easily modified so I changed the canopy mounted lights to H3 halogen units with clear lenses (driving lights). Last summer, I had just finished raking and was tooling across the field in high range and I almost hit a deer. That was it for the stock lights. I need to see farther than 10 feet past the hood.

On another note, I slightly modified the LA853 loader....I attached a rubber tarp strap around the hose bundle, and then bring it outside, around the stationary upright and hook the end to the drilled boss behind the valve body. That keeps the hose bundle from chafing the hood of the tractor and when dismounted, I hook it on the upper cylinder. That keeps the hose bundle from hanging down and makes it easier to pull the tractor into the FEL when re-mounting.

By the way, if you remove the left hand pillar cover in the cab, you will find a couple of extra wires that are hot and ground, controlled by the ignition key....just the ticket for more acessories. I used them to hook up my Harvest Tech applicator and the hot feed for my round bailer control box. The pillars as well as all the interior panels are really easy to remove. Just take a small punch and push the center of the plastic fastner in. That releases the fastner from the pre-drilled hole in the sheet metal. Pretty neat and quick too.
