New L4060hstc in my garage the good, the bad, & the ugly

Loader visibility is worse than on my L3200. Trying to hook up to the bucket or pallet forks frame (forks themselves are still in the mail) I can't quite see the outer corners of the loader side SSQA lip, which I could on the L3200. Not a big deal.

Safety police please look away; I disconnect the seat kill switch so I can stand up to see the end of the pallet forks. If I am clumsy enough to fall out of a cab tractor and allow it to run over me with no one stepping on the HST pedal I had it coming.

Thanks for replying, I just wonder what the "correct" story is. :confused3:

Latest update from the dealer...

Devin, Unfortunately the manufacturer of the cylinders for the top and tilt is on back order until the first of the month. Ray has tried several sources and it appears that everyone gets them from the same place. I will let you know as soon as they free up. Your workshop cd should be here any day.
Thanks
Dale

Will give it a bit more until I move to plan B.

I hope for your sake that this statement is not true that everyone gets them from the same place. I doubt it, since I am a place and I do not supply Kubota's "T&T" sets.

Finally got a chance to road it today. Slightly disappointed, but it was about what I expected. I was only running it at 80% throttle (manual says no full throttle until 50 hours). It did about the same as my L3200 on the hills. Will undoubtedly do a bit better with full throttle, but still slows a fair bit on decent hills. Hauled the big round bale on the 3pt bale spear great on the way home.

Most engines develop the highest torque at about 75 to 80% of full throttle, so on the 4060 drop it into the low in that range while climbing hills. Otherwise break them in like you are going to run it!

Re: New L4060hstc in my garage the good, the bad, & the ugly

Knowing what you are doing...

A) Being a master manipulator of controls based on changing conditions.

B) Knowing your requirements well enough to get the right gear & how to turn on auto pilot.

Both will get a quality done, one is easier. ;-) May or may not look into draft control at some point. For now I'm still planning on building a land plane grade scraper. Probably cheaper than the $800ish draft control (materials only at least) & might be more effective for my needs in the short term.

I do like hearing about new info & being smarter about my equipments capabilities though.

The draft control is unique and can adjust with no more then a 20% load change to keep consistent draw on the machine. They work so well that I have used back blades for snow with out skids across a lawn without gouging. Most three point items on farm tractors will incorporate the use of the draft and the difference that we have seen could be worth a lot of horsepower depending on the sensitivity. Today we use electronics to do what for years and like your 4060 are mechanically done. MtnViewRanch is right with what he said and I will attest you cannot be as good as the draft control! The other side is the overall quality of the job! Most operators use the draft control to actually set the depth of cut not the up and down lever.

Can you tell me exactly how you did this and which switch? I'm assuming you unplugged and jumpered across the plug? Also assuming it's the switch just to the right of the right seat rail? I've got the 4760 and should be the same. Thanks! Merry Christmas!!

On my old L3200 I used a zip tie to hold the sensor lever down. Easily removable if need be. Haven't looked at the L4060 other than seeing a rats nest of wires behind my air ride seat.

I can start the L4060 from the ground, but tapping the go pedal from the ground will kill it. So there is a seat sensor there. Standing to look at bucket/forks isnt really an issue with the cab, so I may just leave the sensor in place.
