The L3901 is a nice tractor, I had one for several years. You already have noticed, they are very light in the rear. For me, even with loaded tires, it was almost unusable unless I had a lot of rear ballast. I pretty much left my chipper or old heavy box scraper on at all times. Again, great little tractor, just be careful.

Thanks for the warning, it’s a great tractor, just need a lot to get it up, will be well worth it when it is completed.

Awesome tractor.

Yeah, I debated between R1 (agriculture) and R4 (regular) tires. R4 came with the tractor but after talking to an old farmer he said he's run R1 for 34 years and only had 1 flat. I'm really surprised tractors don't come with R1's on the lot.
Since all of my work with the tractor will be on my land I didn't see any need for R4's.
After reading a lot of the posts, I am wondering if it is just weight, that would make total, once I get some weight on the back I will update..

I had to wait a week to get my L3901DT since I wanted R1's, the dealer thought he had a set, but didn't. He even said he would give me the R4's for the same price if I wanted the tractor right away. I told him I would wait and I'm glad I did.

I have loaded tires and always have something on the 3PT. I have 8 elevator weights that I cut in half that I will be building a carrier for. That 960 pounds.

I hope the OP has as much luck with his L3901 as I have.
Thanks, I do also. Can’t wait to get out and start to work on the yard,
