new L3800-gear operated 2013-Tier 3

Hello Guys

I just bought a new L3800-gear operated-Tier 3 with a 61/2' --18x20 disk and will be breaking it in in Mississippi planting food plots. Any recomendations would be appreciated, Any break in requirements, RPM, what gear to use.

I have an L3940 which would be somewhat similar and I disc in 1st gear on the high side for the first pass and 2nd gear on subsequent passes. This is in the garden where it has been plowed already.

As for break in - I would just stay away from WOT and try to use the tractor at different engine speeds - not too much bother for the first 50 hours. After that I considered mine 'broken in'.

Need to update your tractor profile... Did you get Ag tires?

A geared L3800 only has two ranges High and Low with reverse. I normally use mine in Low-4th for loadering and using the disk because of the torque,speed and high speed you get while in reverse. Only time i use high is while bushogging my pasture if it isnt to thick, or driving long distance.Of course if you have ag tires it will change the ratio a little but should be close to the same as mine.
