Kubota B3000
Hello,
I posted my introduction over in the new members section. I just purchased a new Kubota B3000 with an LA403 FEL and R4 tires mainly to tame my 12 acres. Most of the property is fescue but there are some hills. The dealer loaded the rear tires since I have some steep places on my property. I don't seem to need the rear wheel spacers yet. I also had the dealer instsall a Bush Hog brand RD5 Rotary cutter, which is a lighter duty (and lighter weight) unit. I won't be cutting any heavy brush with this set up so I think it will be fine. Overall I really like the tractor but the cab is not as quiet as I thought it would be when the HST is doing its thing. I still wear hearing protection which cuts the noise and allows me to hear the radio. I really didn't want to spring for the extra cost of a cab tractor but I got tired of running over yellow jacket nests and getting poison ivy dust all over the back of my neck when running a rotary cutter. These forums have alot of good information. I look forward to exploring more of this website.

I just tried to post a photo of my tractor and rotary cutter at the dealer while it was being set up. Let's see if it works.

Bob,
Actually it's not my shop. It's the dealers shop. I wish I had that much room. I haven't checked to see if it fits in my basement garage. My guess is that it's too tall to clear the top of the garage. I am keeping it under a metal carport now. At least the rain and sun are staying off of it.

Congrats! I just got one too, the B3000HSDCC. Mine came with a backhoe and a 6' Woods rear blade, but I put those away for the winter and hooked up my 5' snowblower. While the HST whine is annoying, the heat in that cab is heavenly.

Enjoy your new tractor, I know I will. And welcome to TBN.

Thanks. I bet that snowblower will get some use in New Hampshire.

how do u like the 3pt snowblower??
I've cleaned a 1/4 mile long, steep (in both directions) gravel driveway for the past 2 winters with that 5' blower on a BX23, and we get a fair amount of snow. The blower works great, far better than a plow for my site conditions. The cab and front & rear lights on the B3000 is going to make snowblowing fun, while with the open-air BX it was sometimes like a mountaineering survival epic.

BBowl you got a nice set up. Sure you can't wait to get that thing and play around with it now huh?

You'll enjoy snow removal with the heater and wipers going and not having to wear a coat and gloves. It was my whole reason to trade my open tractor for a B3030 HSDCC.
Yes, there's the hydro whine that you mention. But it's a trade off that I'll take over becoming the abominable snow man every time the snowblower comes out. My advice is to save your money on a stereo. I have to turn mine up so loud to overcome the inherent cab noise that the stereo experience is not enjoyable.
Some folks have gone with a headphone that's combination noise canceling/radio. Others like to listen for slight changes in the sound of operating attachments. Only you can make that call for yourself.

It has been so warm in NC the past few weeksn that the fescue actually grew a couple of inches so I did get to try out the rotary cutter. This week is a different story. Highs in the 40's and lows in the 20's.
