New Kubota B2650

Hi Everyone! I don't post much, sorry! Not even sure if the photo's I attached are going to show because I don't know if I did it properly? Guess we'll find out.
I have a new B2650 and may purchase some pallet forks for her this week!
I am wondering if anyone who owns a B2650 uses it with forks to move around skids of firewood? And the BIG QUESTION: How much can you realistically carry on a skid?

I have a Mahindra 1538 which is a 38 HP machine. With pallet forks (not the clamp on the bucket style) I could lift the pallet in your second photo. I think the B series will be right on the edge with that load. With something on the 3pt for counter balance (I like my BB) and some light forks (not everything for a CUT should be heavy duty!) you stand a chance! Good luck!

Btw- the pallet and frame in the photo weigh a lot too!

I lift 55 gallons of diesel on a 50# pallet box I built, about 450-500#. I have a everything attachments lightweight 42" pallet forks and a titan ballast box on the back full of bricks and sand. My 2650 lifts the package easily without complaining, but it does rock some. I could use more ballast, like twice as much. The issue you will have is carrying that much weight safely over rough terrain. I'm a safety nut and I won't try much more weight (500#) unless I'm on very level ground and moving slowly. The B series are narrow and the front tires are pretty small and are easy to tip with its robust loader and a heavy load. I think the loader is rated at about 1200#? (The model number is the number of kilos it will lift). Keep your load only high enough the clear the ground. Go ahead and get a set of forks. I use my forks more than any other attachment. It's amazing all the things you will find they can do for you. You will love them.

I have a B3300 and I think your loader is rated a little higher capacity. The pallet of wood you pictured would/should be handled without a problem. The Construction attachments lightweight forks skipperbrown referenced in his post are nice and perfect size for your machine. I wound up with two sets! Did you get Kubota's proprietary Q/A or the universal SS Q/A...difference in pricing between the two.

You'll like having set of forks, very handy attachment. No problems with your photos...

Sounds pretty awesome! My BX25D was a great machine, but started to feel pretty small and light duty after time went by.
B2650 with heated cab is pretty sweet!
I Have a blower on the back that I haven't used. It has not snowed here since I got it! Un-heard of!
Backhoe to put on in the spring.
The forks sound like a great plan. I will go for it!
I'll start with a half load on the skid and keep testing to get a feel for how much will go with some comfort

I fretted over 42" forks or 48" and went with 42". After using them a lot, I think the 42" are the cat's meow for this tractor.

I have the B26TLB and forks are indispensable. Lift capacity is a realistic 1000lbs or half a pallet of wood pellets....anything more is pushing it. For the lighter B2650 loader I would stay around 800lbs lifting...either way use good judgement and let the tractor decide what is realistic via by what is happening.

Skipperbrown, I didn't even really think about the length of the forks! Do you think that extra length would come in handy here and there?
I will also be using the forks to position logs better for cutting on occasion. When spring comes and I put my backhoe on for summer, I usually use the backhoe to lift the logs for me for a nice cutting height.
As far as the weight goes with the skid of wood. I guess half to 3/4 of a face cord I'm thinking. A green face cord is somewhere near 1400 lbs I think.

Skipperbrown... How much weight do you think your ballast would be? I know my snowblower has a fair amount of weight to it and in summer would be the weight of the backhoe.
