Hi. I'm up in Vermont and we don't have a local Kory dealer that stock these things. I approached a local equipment dealer on getting them, but I don't think he will. I don't think Farm and Fleet would send it up here, so I'm limited to the lighter weight options from companies like Farmtek, etc. Has anyone found a source for these little Kory's that will ship?

Hendy Brothers in Middlebury are EZ-Trail dealers...

Hello guys !!!

I've learned a lot about trailers from you. Can anyone tell me some about steering systems used for running gears designed for compact tractors ?. I want to build my own four wheel dump (two hyd. cyl.) "wagon", max 6000 lbs, with large wheels (20" for mud roads), large flatbed (min 6x12'), and the best possible steering system.
What kind of steering use Kory, E-Z or MFG ?. Which would you like best ???
:) Thanks !!!

I emailed Kory yesterday and they will ship directly in areas where there isn't a dealer. Still trying to figure out if I should get a wagon or off-road dual axle trailer, if I should get an expanded metal bed or plywood, and if I need the dump feature. I anticipate moving rocks, firewood, tools, and dirt here and there.

Looks like they now have a frame with the rail mounts outside.

Whatever you do, I would strongly suggest getting a cart or trailer, rather than a wagon with it's own steering mechanism.

At least if you have any plans or even think that you might have to back up with it attached to your tractor some day ... ;)

(Disclosure: I own one of the County Mfg. carts/trailers :D)

Experiencing what i've contended with, I'd make these suggestions as I carry what you are as well. I'd sink my money into a small road worthy trailer. This can now be dragged around with your tractor as well as your car/truck. I'd most certainly get a dump feature making sure that the capacity to dump, equals the capacity of the trailer. (A square yd of loam weighs in the vicinity of 3000#) I'd get a small 4 or 5' by 8' single axle with a 3500# capacity. This will be a handy dandy trailer that is small enough to take into the woods. You could drop down a size to 4x6 as well if woods are dense but make sure it can dump either with manual manipulation or otherwise. Plywood will be fine but it should be 3/4".

Yup ... personally, I almost wish I had sunk the coin into a small, road worthy hydraulic dump trailer.

Big difference in cost though.

I'd say go with a hydraulic lift/dump ... assuming you have rear remotes. A 3" or 4" x 24" cylinder and hoses shouldn't set you back more than a couple hundred dollars.

It's been incredibly handy for me ...

I've hauled over 120,000 lbs of sheep manure alone from my neighbors (4,000 to 5,000 lbs per load) for the garden, and probably a similar amount in dirt around the property ... can't imagine dumping all of that manually.

I covered the PT lumber on the bed of our Country Mfg. dump cart with 1/4" plywood ... just to keep stuff from falling thru the cracks and hopefully to let it slide out easier.

.

It is a cost difference but the handiness of the thing makes it well worth it in my head. I have a 4x6 that I found used for $500. It is a manual dump but (and it's a big "but") I never use it "manually". What I do is release the latch pin for the bed which then "dumps" and then back-up the truck or tractor to tip it further. It empties out with a couple of these maneuvers and then resets itself back to level. My only regret is that it has a 2000# axle but I plan to replace that with a 3500# one with the associated springs.
