Hello all. I am a new Kioti owner and still have my old 1969 John Deere 1520 with a FEL. Will be selling this soon to help pay for the new Kioti. I have a couple of questions to ask that I have not found the answer to by looking here and on other sites.
First question regards how long to hold on the manual glow plugs on my machine for cold weather starting and what the throttle should be positioned at when starting. I have been trying it at 30 seconds and about 1/8 on the hand throttle. It starts, but stutters and makes a ton of smoke that fills up the barn. It takes a couple of minutes to clear up and is fine after warming up a little. The second question regards warranty registration. I did not receive anything from the dealer. Do they register the warranty, or do I have to do it? There is nothing in the owners manual about this. I know I should be able to go to my dealer with these questions but the one thing I made a mistake on was choosing the dealer. I am not going to bash them here, but they have been totally unresponsive since the sale. Live and learn. I researched the tractor to death, but not so much when it came to the dealer. I have already ordered a set of quick attach forks and am looking at the Piranha tooth bar as well. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have already gained a ton of knowledge by reading on this forum.
