"keep my passions and opinions to myself" hmmmmmm, well when you guys do that also I will follow in kind and I guess we won't need TBN anymore except to argue about God and killing animals with fish hooks. Sorry bigpete, you are my bud, but no thanks, I cannot comply with your request.
That ranking is my ranking, you guys rank as you wish, I may move the JD to number one if it proves out as good as it looks.
The Cub Cadet--way to much plastic, you can rationalize some plastic here and there but there are limits and some companies have gone beyond them. Please, JD, Kubota, New Holland et al, can y'all please use metal for the floorboards, engine cowls and hoods. Plastic fenders may be nice if they can take a hit and spring back--but a plastic floorboard--no way. It is simply a cost cutting measure---please guys METAL-STEEL-even Aluminum--no plastic floorboards.
Also, bigpete, how do you know I have not seen a 2210 (?), we have farm shows here in Kansaw too. Hell, everyone here has a tractor, some are just for lawn ornamentation.
I am afraid my new friend down the road is correct--his 8N will still be going when all the plastic on my Kubotas, and your JD and that totally plastic Cub Cadet are long gone. We all gonna look kinda funny in 30 years on a tractor with nothing but wheels and an engine left, the rest recycled into panty hose. J

My wife's grandfather would buy new tractor and take
hood, fenders, cowl, and whatever else OFF and put
in barn.
It sure looked ugly.
Then run tractor for years till trade-in time and put
everything back on.
Tractor looked like new.
Maybe we need to do the same, they will have to find another
source for panty hose.

You're a funny guy... /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

It is quite an interesting concept when you think about it... /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

...but I still think that red unit is one of the prettiest... /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif (metal deck too!)

Sounds like a good idea, actually.

tres, passions, hmmm, I did not think it was really passions. I think it a solid opinion supported with good natured joking, actually. I mean at least when I comment in the Kubota boards, at least you come to my defense when soem of the shall we say more "passionate" Orangemen attack. So hey fling away, as at least you do not go wide of range on the comments, and you definitely will admit when you do not have enough info to comment more than your opinion. I actually do enjoy your posts on whatever board. Plastic, yep, if you are over 230 like me that plastic on the floorboards is not good. Hell I inadvertenly stepped on my mower getting on the tractor and had to eventually readjust it, so I hope they do not ever do plastic on those!

The Cub Cadet 7254 is not a sub-compact tractor.

Hey, J old buddy, I was razzin' you. You know I appreciate your opinions and, in fact, I have nothing but contempt for people who like everything and refuse to take a stand (that was my point and if you re-read the post you'll catch it). Our society and workplace is swimming with people who think everything and everyone should be treated equally no matter how they/it performs and.....well that's another story for another thread. FWIW, I continually repeat my admiration of other lines like the Kubota BX and Massey just like you. I appreciate the fact that you DO quantify your opinions and I don't have to tell you to never apologize for them.
