New JD 3038e No speedometer

Fresh off the lot 3038e. From all indications in the owner's manual there should be a speedomter on this thing. Anybody know for certain if it's a. not available. b. optional c. not working.
I'd call the dealer but the salesman told me it didn't have a turbo so I'm not gonna start with him.
Pasture spraying is goint to take some ingenuity if I can't peg a repeatable speed.

It looks like the 3038E has a techometer but no speedometer. I'm not aware of any JD CUT that has a speedometer.

The 4x20 series has a dial face tach and digital hourmeter like shown; however, the hour meter toggles itself to spedometer while you are moving then back to tach when you stop - or you can press the button and toggle manually as well. I don't think the 3038 has that feature.
Regardless, you can calibrate your rig using a set distance and stop watch. That is what we did when I was a kid. Even if a tractor has a speedo it isn't usually super accurate and my Dad would set use the stopwatch anyway.

There are often charts relating speed by gear by rpm. Not so easy if hydrostat tranny.

But there are add-on ground speed sensors that are probably the best way to go. Not so cheap.

Other than that, measure out a distance, travel it with the tach at a certain rpm and cruise set and determine the mph using a clock or stop watch. Can be done (as Dusty said).

My tractor as well has a tach, but no speedometer. Because I was interested in knowing how fast I was going I downloaded the Ulysse Speedometer app. I have tested in both my car and truck. The app matches them both in measuring speed and distance. Here is a link if you want to look at it.

On my Kubota (wrong brand, I know), the digital display serves various functions. You have to toggle through them to select the one you want. See if your dash has a button labeled "display mode" or something similar.

That might be the plan. With my Yanmar I can pick a gear, RPM and time it for repeatability.

On my JD 3320 the speedometer is as dusty3030 says about the 4x20 series. The LCD is an hour meter until there is movement, then it becomes a speedometer. It works in forward or reverse.

I don't recall my 3032-e having speed readout [2013 model].
There are several items that do not exist on the "E" models.
