New Holland TC24D - Low gear issue.

Tractor will not move when shiffed to low gear, all other gears work fine. Has the standard trans, 3x3. Dealer said the problem was internal, any ideas as to what could be the issue? Other post on the same subject didn't get a resolution.

it could be a shifter adjustment, a bent shift fork, or a stripped gear.

Does it act as if it is in neutral or does it pull the engine down.
Does it feel like it's going into detent or does the shifter just feel loose.

Lets clear up the layout first. Is this a 3 plus reverse on the column and three speed ranges on the fender with low range between medium (Forward) and high (back)? If not please clear up the layout. If this is the arrangement, and it is the low range between high and medium on the fender, then it probably is an internal issue and will need at least the tranny cover removed to examine the shifter and gears.

if it's set up like that, it could be a linkage adjustment issue. there must be a linkage from the fender to the transmission..
