I have been wanting to add a 3rd function spool to my tractor as at some point I will have a grapple or a thumb for by bucket. (Tractor is a 2010 New Holland T1530 with a New Holland Loader ) I wanted to do this before I purchase a grapple as it should be less of a hit on the wallet all at one time. Any way I have looked at different options as to a diverter valve, true third function, or adding a spool or a different loader valve. I have narrowed for my personal oppion either the extra spool valve or the new 3rd function loader valve. Like this 3 SPOOL 25 GPM JOYSTICK LOADER VALVE W/GRAPPLE
or a single spool like this
1 SPOOL 8 GPM PRINCE MB11B5C1 DA VALVE
I have read this post a few times but have a few questions
http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/hydraulics/198367-photos-third-function-valve-project.html
According to my owners manual for the tractor(New Holland T1530) it is an open center hydraulic system that has a capacity of 9.8 gpm and has a relief valve setting of 2490 psi. Also my New Holland loader valve has 3 lines going to it. According to my owners manual there is a Pressure out port, pressure return port( I think this is what is called the power beyond) and a sump/tank port.
I understand that I can add a spool like in the above post. I would run the pressure return line(I am assuming this is the power beyond) to the IN on the new valve, Then my power beyond port on the new valve would go back to the pressure return line to the tractor. I would plum the lines for the cyl to the front loader for grapple. Then what about the return line to the tractor? Can I just add a T to the line as it is just a return to the tank? Is it ok to add a T to the sump/ tank line?
Also I am a little confused about flow rating on the valves. If I use this valve 1 SPOOL 8 GPM PRINCE MB11B5C1 DA VALVE
It is not rated for what my tractor is.
If i use above what my tractor is rated for like this valve
1 SPOOL 14 GPM PRINCE WVS11B5C1 DA VALVE
or this
3 SPOOL 25 GPM JOYSTICK LOADER VALVE W/GRAPPLE
Will that pose any problems to my tractor? If I just go with the single spool valve do I want the one rated for 8gpm or 14 gpm? Can I go above what my tractor is rated for? I would think it would be better than lower?? Or do I have to find an 10gpm valve??
Also do I need this to go with it? P-BEYOND & CLOSED CENTER PLUG 8 GPM MB VALVES
Or is that just to make it a closed center valve?
Also I am assuming that I would need to adjust the relive setting on the new valve to what my tractor is currently set for with some type of guage? Where can I get a Guage and what port would I need to hook to for the reading so I can adjust it?
Lastly I can tell what fitting I would need for the new spool as it states what it takes. But is there any resource that can tell me what I currently have on the loader valve npt, jic or sae?(pictures etc) I am not asking what size I think I can figure that out but what style fittings I have so I can find the correct fittings?
Ok for a summary
1.So what flow valve ratting would I need to add a valve to my tractor? and is it ok to go above the tractor rating say if I go with the new loader control valve with the grapple function that is rated for 25 gpm or the single spool that is rated for 14gpm?
2.Is it ok to add a T fitting to the sump/tank return line? If not what do I do for this?
3.Is what my manual is calling the pressure return line the power beyond line?
4.Would I need an extra plug like above to add a spool to my tractor or is that to make it close center valve?
5. Where do I get a guage to adjust my pressure settings on the new valve and what port would that hook to for a reading?
6. Is there a resource (pictures or something that tells me what type of fitting are on my tractor (npt, JIC, or SAE)
Thanks for the information and Help.
