New Holland battery replacement

Getting a BCI 34R would have probably bolted right in.

The way the clamp is designed it may well NOT have. There would be a gap of about 1/4 inch between the top of the battery and the bottom of the clamp. The clamp is a fixed height.

I'll hit the hardware store tomorrow and get a longer bolt and some washers to make it work.

Your solution sounds better. Maybe post the size bolt that you used, and a pic?

If your WM is anything like my Boomer be prepared to spend some time replacing the thing. Lots of stuff to take apart to get out of the way before you can remove the battery.
Yeah, I saw that you said that, and it got me worried! I didn't think there's much in the way. I figured it'd be easy. If you have a loader, did you lift it way up so you didn't have to work around it? I guess I'd stand in between the grill and the loader bucket so I could do the job in the barn (just in case something goes wrong and I have a delay getting parts), but there's not much room. I guess I'd lower the grill guard, open the hood, and raise and lock the grill guard again so I have something to lean against. But I'm not sure.

Got my replacement at walmart after a ton of wasted time on the internet. The battery was having a little trouble starting the tractor last winter. Happen to have the picture of the battery on my phone with the measurements edited on to the picture so I would not forget them.
Was looking for ammo and ended up buying the battery.
You'll have a lot better luck buying a battery than ammo at Wally World.

We did NOT raise the bucket or detach it. There is not a lot of room between the bucket and front of the tractor, but there was enough to get in there and remove the battery. Pretty much the rest of the operation can be done from the sides of the tractor. I did the job in the barn. I would not work under a raised bucket on the chance the hydro lets loose and the bucket falls on your head.

However remember I have a Boomer and you have a Workmaster so not sure what the difference is in changing out the battery.

Just go with more than enough CCA.....
