When you say right or left, it is relative. Your right/left should be referenced as though you were standing behind the baler looking towards the tractor. Can you clarify?
Oops - just saw you are doing this.
To get more hay to the left, the feeder fingers need to move to the right. Counterintuitive, but gives a larger charge of hay into the chamber - the manual speaks to this adjustment. Also feed windrow into the pickup next to the bale chamber. A New Holland baler likes a good bit of hay in the pickup, just don't jam it. If you don't have heavier windrows, i.e. double raked in thinner crops, make them. Also pickup a gear to fill the pickup. Run at 540 PTO rpms.
In addition, make sure the 3 hay dogs and their springs are there and working. You should have 4 vertical triangular wedges, 2 each side in the bale chamber.
Stick with it - the 68 cam make a brick just like a new baler.
