New Holland 650 hay Baler Clogging

What could be the cause of a New holland 650 Round hay baler to clog up when you just start a new bale sometimes? Once you get it started good you can go as fast you want. Usaully start off in 2 low and it still clogs up. Anybody got any solutions as to why this does this?

the pickup teeth needs to be changed, the starter roller could be wore down and it wont start rolling hay until you cram enough hay into it to start rolling on the belts

How hard is it to change the starter roll?

before changing the starter roller try painting it will side walk paint (it will have some grit in the paint) and see if that doesn't solve you problem

I realize this is an old post but I have the same problem. Did you ever have any luck fixing baler. My 650 will not even try to start a roll

Is the belts good and rough? I put new belts on my 530 hesston that was having the same problem. No more problem. Also make sure you got all your pickup teeth.
