New Holland 1725
I have a 1996 New Holland 1725, 4x4, approximately 1500 hours. I have had an intermittent problem with my glow plugs. Then, the glow plug indicator light would not light, and all I can do is crank it for a while until it starts without preheating.

I pulled the glow plugs, grounded the body to the negative side of the battery, and the post to the positive side, and all three glowed red.

I replaced both of the relays that are located under the steering wheel. As far as I can tell, there is no timer controller. I followed the wires from the bus on the glow plugs, and it goes from the glow plugs, up to the ignition switch, and then to the two relays.

I replaced both relays. Now, I can get the glow plugs to preheat, the indicator light will go on, and I am getting close to 12V on the bus that is attached to the plugs.

Now for the problem. If I put both new relays in, I can preheat, but then I can not get the engine to crank. If I take out the relay on the engine side, it will crank, but not go into preheat mode. If I take out the relay on the driver's side, I can get it to preheat, but not start.

Please help! I check all fuses, wire connections. The electric schematic that I got with the tractor only shows one relay (safety-start relay), but not two.
