New Holland 1620 tractor with 7308 bucket implement has delayed response when dumping

1620 tractor from around 1996 with about 350 hours is having trouble only when dumping. Has the New Holland 7308 bucket. Doesn't matter if the bucket has a load or not. It starts to dump and then stops and then eventually fully dumps.

Checked fluid and it is full. To my untrained eye it looked ok.

I bought it from the original owner in 2020. I know where he took it for maintenance and it was always taken care of.

Can dirty fluid cause this type of behavior?

Sounds like an issue with your loader valve. I had an issue with the float position on mine and had to take the caps off the bottom and clean them out. It may not be your problem, but it's easy to do and doesn't cost anything.

Aside from the possibility of a sticking valve, as you move the stick to the right if you go to the stop it will go into regen vs power down. A slow move will start it but once all the way to the right you're in the valve's regen mode and the weight of the bucket won't uncurl it quickly, empty or loaded.

Happens to me a lot when I'm grappling and in a hurry that I ram the stick too far. You might be able to feel the detent. Move the stick only ~ half way to power uncurl. I hope it's as simple for you ad it is for me.

I had a similar problem with mine and found that one of the quick connect couplers was bad. I switched the connectors at the front of the tractor until I found the one that did not work.
