New GX325 owner question

Hi all!

I picked up a GX325 which will mostly be used for cutting grass/weeds around the house a bit smoother than the bush hog. My last garden tractor experience was my dad's old C161 Wheel Horse (which he refuses to sell to me ). To me, the idle on the GX325 is quite high, not like the "putt putt putt" of the old Wheel Horse. Is the new "normal"?

a 2 cylinder engine will not go 'putt putt putt' at idle like a single cylinder.
a nice quiet 'purr' is more common, and without a tach it's hard to know if it's idling too fast.

I prefer my twin cylinders to go potato potato potato and very loud! LOL. :- )))

Thanks. I've got an RPM measurer. I'll figure out the engine speed.
