I am new to this website and a new owner of a Yanmar 1500. I have been researching the yanmars on this website for a while, and there is alot of knowledgeable people on this site. I bought this tractor because i thought it would be good for getting down 4 wheeler trails for making foodplots, I also needed something to scrape my driveway. One thing i have been looking for is a tech manual for my tractor, i cant seem to find anything and just want to know more about it. Thanks for reading. Jeremy

Welcome aboard! There are part manuals, service manuals, and owners manuals available. The service manuals for the grey market tractors will be for the closest American sold model. I have both an operation manual and a service manual for my YM2002D. The operation manual is specifically for a ym2002d, the service manual is actually for a YM220/226 which is the closest American model to my grey market. There are definitely differences. There are several dealers lurking around these forums that have the manuals. Do a search on Yanmar manuals.

Thanks for all the responses everyone. I was on the tractor for about 5 hours yesterday scraping part of my property that was cleared by my father in laws back ho. It seems like this yanmar is only limited by its weight, not its power. I was wondering how much weight i should have up front, right now i only have about 65 pounds, and i was wondering if anyone has put water in there rear tires to help with traction. Thanks

As long as you have enough weight up front to counterbalance the implement that you are using and keep the front tires on the ground you should be ok. Filling the rear tires with fluid should help quite a bit with traction. There are several options for filling tires including windshield washer fluid, antifreeze, calcium chloride, and beet pulp. They all have certain advantages and disadvantages but water should probably be avoided since it can freeze and damage your tires.

Welcome to TBN! I have also realized the same weight over power issue. Weight wise, i have 200 pounds on the front which I use for grading and tilling. When mowing, I just take them off unless im in soft soil. That seemed to solve my weight problem. It also allows me to lift heavier implements.
