Tractor
John Deere 790wFEL
Hey Guys, after 6mos of shopping I finally bought a JD. I purchased a used 02 790w/ 419 FEL. The tractor has 117 hrs on it and came as a package. Also included Lx5 bush hog,5' JD blade, spring harrow, and 100 gal. fuel tank,w pump and 50 gal. of fuel. Purchase price $10k. I have learned alot from members on thi site and want to thank you! I couldn' afford all the bells, but Iwill just count the $100 bills every time I shift.

That's a pretty good combination. Welcome to the green club.

I first had a 12 hp Gravely with almost all the attachments that I needed drop into my lap when I first moved here. Needed more haulage downhill and ability to toss my mulch and a bit more bush hog capacity; so, I'm the proud owner of a new JD 4010 with 410 FEL and LX4. Friend gave me an old soil ripper. I'll use the Gravely cart and/or maybe buy a carrall to all to the haulage capacity.

Is yours a 4wd or 2wd? The 790 seems to look more like the old classic JDs.

Congrats Creeper, you'll love it. Kind of makes me feel outdated to hear you've bought a used 790 that is newer than mine. It's a great tractor, there are a bunch of us with them on this board. Any questions come up, just ask and enjoy that GREEN /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

This model is 4wd,it is more like the older versions, but my last tractor was a 1969 MF 65 and the loader had 2 controllers for the FEL and a big dead spot in the hyd valve. I tore up more stuff than I fixed including pushing the 5' bucket thru my block foundation.LOL /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

There goes your warranty. You know your not supposed to attach stuff to the ROPS! Have you not been reading Henros ROPS postings? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That must have been quite a bump to land you up there, but the grass looks so smooth.

Thats a pretty neat trick! I want to know how ya keep that tractor so clean? NICE RIG!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Creeper:

The clean part is easy to explain...it was only about 4 days old when the pic was taken!!

If ya ever get the hankerin' for some more lights on that beast send me a message and I show what I did...piece o cake and no drilling required on the ROPS.

You do understand we'll be needin' ta see some pic's of your tractor now....right?

I will pm you about the lights, Do they work well enough to compensate for the headlights when the bucket is raised for travel? What is the best way to attach pics? Directly to a post or thru the website?
