We have had a couple major wind storms here in the past few weeks. I finally pulled the trigger on a grapple bucket for my mini excavator. I have to make a mount to fit my machine. I'll post a picture when I get it mounted.

What machine is this going on? I have a Bobcat 325 and I'm itching to weld a thumb onto it. Where did you get this bucket?

It is going on a Yanmar VIO 27. I also wanted a thumb, but I use my machine for plumbing installlations. The thumb, even folded ,would make it hard to get under footings. It would be that much farther to hand dig. I found it on Ebay. I don't have the name handy but the phone number is 724-694-3390. It is made to fit a quick tach on a Dingo walk behind skid loader. They are going to weld a flat plate on the back not the Dingo mount. It is 27" wide. They make them in several larger sizes. I plan to weld a bracket on the back just like a bucket has. My Yanmar has a hydraulic quick coupler for the bucket. I can change back and forth in just a couple minutes while sitting on my seat. As soon as I get all the materials together to make the mount, I'll post some more pictures.

The best part, it cost the same as a hydraulic thumb.

I have put the mount on the grapple to fit the excavator. It works great.

Kays Supply,
I have had the same thoughts about adding a thumb to my 110, I am leary of it getting in the way limiting me from reaching beneath. If new housing starts slow down further it may be a non issue.

I had to try it out, but then I put a coat of paint on it. I plan to put it to use today. I'll post some more pics tonight.

I am more effected by the weather than the economy here. I have some storm damage and so do most of my relatives and friends. I can get alot of use out of this for a while.

Here are some " Action Shots". I used it for several hours today. It worked better than I had hoped.

I'm thinking you could just pull up small trees with that thing.
I like it!
