New forum look

I really like the new forum look. For the life of me, can't really tell what specifically has changed. Maybe the font is a bit bigger? For my tired eyes, that would definitely be a good change!

Glad you like it. Lots of little things changed but the fundamental stuff is the same. Font did change, yes.

PMs are under alerts in the forum navigation (icons below the black bar at the top). We should probably change that name to messages.

Found it! I use Linux for an operating system, thought there might be a problem with Linux.

That was there because I forgot to remove it. But now it's gone. :laughing:

That's a possibility but there are several plugins for that sort of thing and I want to fully evaluate them before implementing one. We tested it once and very few people used it so we disabled it.

I do miss the preview feature where you can mouse-over the thread and get a few sentences of the beginning of the post. Now I'll have to look at all of the "Help Me" and "I need help" titled threads without details to see what the issue is. (One of my pet peeves is those posts.)

The pastel colored fonts are hard to see for those of us with old tired eyes. The black is easier and less tiring on my eyes.

Wouldn't "Mail" or "Messages" be more intuitive? Perhaps I'm mistaken, but "Alerts" and "My Home" seem to have identical functionality and "My Profile" seems to be a useless and redundant vanity feature. Everything could easily be integrated under "My Home" like it was before... simple and easy to use.

And... the reply box turning grey when I mouse over it is driving me INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The old search function sorted post with "Unread" on the top and marked in different background color. New doesn't do that. Or do I need to chnage some setting?
