New Dolmar 5105

I currently use a Stihl 029 Farm Boss and it has been a good saw. I needed a second saw in a few situations (pinched bar) and also the 029 is heavy. So afte reading your reviews I found a deal on the 5105.

Wow , what a saw ! It has the 3/8" chain and 18" bar. Cuts much better than the 029. No vibration at all , very smooth saw. Plenty of power. I'm not reving the saw to it's maximum either. Still breaking it in.
Once it is broken in I'll have the exhaust mod done and adjust the carb. like it says on here.

Bolt on a non epa 5100 muffler in place of the epa 5105 muffler and you will like that too. :thumbsup:

It is amazing that that saw will eat the 290 for lunch all day long. And it is a few pound lighter and 5cc's less to boot

Okay , I installed the non-epa 5100 muffler and now just need to put the bar and chain on and give it a try.
Are there any carburetor adjustments I need to make ?

You might have to richen the saw up some. Run the saw flat out and see if it is buzzing along too fast. That will tell you it is too lean. Adjust with the high speed screw. You might have to adjust the low speed as well for acceleration and idle if you have to adjust for top end.
