I don't have telescoping lift arms. Fixed length on left and adjustable on right. I was thinking of getting Pat's attachments to make it easier.

They can be a big help. I had a set of Carters when I had fixed lift arms, because they sat on top of the lift arms instead of extend behind. You may or you may not have to have a longer PTO shaft with the Pats, and may have to extend the top link or get a longer one. The disadvantage of the Carters are that you lift arms cant't go as low, but it was never a problem for me. But when I got a tractor with telescoping lower links, I gave my Carters away to my BIL.

... Then the top link. Adjust top link for desired angle of implement. ... If you have a PTO shaft, after arms connected, turn off tractor and put in on, then continue. ...

I think he meant to say PTO shaft COVER. The splined shaft should be kept lightly greased to facilitate install/removal as well as to reduce wear and rust. But that grease will collect dirt and an uncovered shaft is somewhat dangerous. So cover it if you have the cover. If not, clean the shaft before you re-install and PTO implement.

If you are installing a PTO implement, connect the PTO shaft before the top link.

With a box blade, the pitch angle of the box blade (as controlled by the top link) is the main adjustment for the blade. You can go from light top dressing to deep digging, depending in the fore-aft angle the box blade makes with the ground.

Being surrounded by neighbors that run much more expensive and sophisticated equipment, I'm fortunate, and get a lot of "I'll be right over". Course their minimum outlay is typically 1/4 mil +/- for equipment. Being small taters has an advantage, I can get hurt, not crushed :) LOL. Sick joke I know but the mindset is different from generations of cotton farmers to my measly equipment though it's already made a huge difference in what I need to do. I'm not too proud to ask for help, forgiveness and will play it forward :)

My dealer trimmed the PTO cover back about 4" as he said it makes the process much easier for attaching and detaching. He also emphasized a little grease, not a lot of grease to lube, as we all know the more the sticky, the more the dirt adheres.

Congrats on your CK30 purchase and continue to enjoy your work--safely. I have the 2006 version of the CK30 Shift. You are so right about this little tractor's strength and ability to get a job done. Keep asking good questions--we all have asked our share, and folks on here have been most helpful.

something will probably happen at some time with your tractor, you will go to either lift or lower the 3 point hitch and it will not move. DO NOT PANIC as I and several others have done. The knob that controls the speed of the lifting gets turned, some say it is from your foot brushing past while getting on or off the tractor, I say it is gremlins teasing you. Which ever it is when you at some point push or pull the lever to adjust the height of the 3 point hitch and it does not move, turn the knob.

jrkaye, I thought a small tractor explosion was happening in Colorado City. But now I think you probably know Sally, and she is just having trouble deciding on which forum name to keep.

Once you start using your box blade you will wonder how you ever lived without it. I flat out love mine, nothing I have ever used can level a big pile of material in as big a hurry as the BB does. Once you get the hang of adjusting the angle and hight of the blade you can level, crown and angle roads for proper drainage etc.

Agree with this totally. The third remote for the top link makes a ton of difference in operation. Box Blade Rules!!

I will admit it's a daunting task to "adjust" everything just so. My box blade, without loweingr my tines, has been the most challenging. I have 2 issues, one is the gravel/stone drive, the other (not yet attempted) is using the tines on the pasture for the horses. I've left them UP so far. My front end loader is a godsend but it can only do so much. Got a lot more experience for a rookie but so much to learn. The box blade is my next adjustment as I think I'm too shallow, wrong pitch and the tines are UP. Oh well. nothing to destroy except dirt and weeds :)
