Seems the BX24 are selling like hotcakes up here on Vancouver Island - the dealer claims sales are up 40% on last year. They haven't had one to sell me and say they problem goes all the way back to Georgia. Today he says he can get one for me in about three weeks.....

BUT

He says Kubota are about to announce new models, one of which will probably be called the BX25. He reckons it will be 25HP and have features they have added to the new BX2660.

He reckons perhaps it's worth waiting for.

Any thoughts out there?

Pete

-redesigned HST, smoother changes in direction
-Metal hood and fenders
-better seat - as found on Grand L40
-allows loader to move at engine idle
-25.5hp D1005 engine

Dealer here expected it to be 1200-1500 canadian dollars more than the BX24.

Good grief, tractors are almost as bad as computers. Once you buy one you don't dare look at the ads 'cause they're gonna come out with the newer, faster, shinier model the next year. Of course, with computers they're cheaper too :D

Prices up here on Vancouver Island are high - I can't get the dealer to budge from $18,000 canadian for the basic BX24 - you guysdown south are doing way better than that.

I'm impatient to get something and get on with it but I suppose prices on the BX24 may drop when the new model is announced. And maybe the new feature are worth the extra money. Resale value will be that much better on the newer model too, I suppose.

Any other thoughts out there?

I really don't want to have to buy down there - I want to support local dealerships and get local support and service. It's a bit of a logistical deal I could do without too - I don't have a truck and trailer - we're on an island - there's probably duty to pay... I hope to buy here if I can.

Tough to say if it would be worth it. If you get it (or wait for it) make sure it is for the metal hood/fenders and the nicer seat. I don't think the BX series has any use for another 2.5 or 3 HP...it has plenty, in my opinion.

I sat on a 2660 today...that is a heck of a nice seat. I have metal fenders and hood on my "old school" 2230 and I have more HP than I have ever needed, so if I have money REALLY burning a hole in my pocket, I'll go buy one of those seats and stick it on my tractor. But the 'new' seat I got about 6 months ago is VERY comfortable...I just like that I can adjust the seatback to more vertical on the 2660...I never feel like I can relax my back on my 2230.

I think you'd have to be VERY passionate about metal hood and fenders to wait. The BX24 is an awesome machine that will do everything a "BX25" would do. Some would even sing the praises of the plastic hood and fenders...

Love 'em...especially fenders. In "lawn mower mode," I can back into fence when doing corners with no damage...:D
