After my 2 discussion threads http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-owning-operating/226304-largest-snowblower-bx.html and http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-owning-operating/226695-b2789-opinions.html i decided to go with the 51 factory blower.

For the following reasons

1. Fit and finish. The Kubota blower is well made and very nicely painted compaired to some of the rest.

2. Auger rotation is SMOOTH.

3. 51" is the recommended size. A 60 would likely work, but i think the 51 will allow me to put more horsepower into the fan where it is needed vs running a wider auger.

4. My dealer quoted me a sweet price that was too hard to pass up

5. there was a severe lack of options for small blowers in stock here in my province. I got the last b2789 available likely to the new year. All brands are experiencing a shortage, not just kubota so i had to act in case we had snow before xmas.

Unloading the new blower.

Went to begin the assby and realized that once again, my dealer forgot to include the necessary hardware!! This is the second time :mur: So the assembly part of the thread is gonna have to wait ;)

Figured i should update.

I finally got the missing parts and got the blower assembled. No pictures unfortunately. But its basically consists of bolting on the chute (~12 bolts) and the worm screw for the rotation (5 bolts)

Had it out for a test tonite. Blew a shear pin on the PTO shaft... never fails:laughing:

I replaced the shear .. then proceeded to plug the chute... SOLID.. something i dont think ive ever done with my honda. Ive plugged it, but never like this.

Got that unjammed then removed the "Automatic Chute Plugging Device" Kubota installed AKA the finger guard. No problems with plugging after that.

If anybody gets a Kubota, REMOVE that guard... Trust me...

Im going to have to raise the shoes until the drive is frozen. Other that so far so good. Doing the drive in 3 passes, not to mention the increased travel speed is awesome.

Never had a problem with finger guard blocking snow, only when the snow was wet and heavy and very cold out causing the snow to freeze on the impeller giving less throw. Ill double check that when it finally snows!

I have a blower on my simplicity and that is the first think I did. Had to use a hack saw to get off. I don't understand why people can't keep their hands out of the chute. I am no rocket scientist but my hand is not going in that chute. But every snow the ER is full of people with messed up hands.

Ive found a weakness in the design, 2 actually.

1. The open worm and "flange" that holds the chute to the blower are gravel magnets. Gravel frequently jams the rotation.

2. I dont like the open chain. Ive jammed it with gravel too.

With the warm weather this year, the ground wont freeze. Since these pics ive raised the shoes to their max height. Hopefully next snow ill be able to leave some gravel on the drive:laughing:

Thanks for the post, now I understand what guard you are referring to :D

We haven't had enough snow to really get out an do anything with the blower this year yet, but I, too, have my skids at the max height for my gravel drive.....otherwise, not only will you be shooting stones 50 ft into your yard, you'll do a number on the augers and impellers of your blower

Thought you said you bought a new snowblower? Looks to me from the pictures its a run-a-crush relocater! Ha! HA!  Looks like the snowsnakes are going to be on the run now! I bought a new blower last Feb and its never been on the tractor yet! But. . .I'm considering doing it this month cause there's been no need yet. First 3 pictures are of the new Farm King 600. . . Last picture is the old Allied/Farm hand blower serving me for about 16 years. I've got a real treat this year. new blower going on a new Kioti tractor. well Happing Blowing, John
