New B2650 Owner

Haven't been here for a few years. Sold my B3300SU when I relocated from Colorado to the East coast.

Lived in Massachusetts for two years until I finally decided to move to Rhode Island and buy a house. Now I needed a new tractor.

Started to examine all of the dealers in Rhode Island and did not find one that I really clicked with. Then I found a really good dealer in North Franklin Connecticut called Kahn Tractor and Equipment.

Based on research here, I knew that I did not want a new B3350 based on the regeneration issue. So I decided to look for a B2650. Found a great salesman and made a good deal on a new B2650 ROPS with a FEL, R4 tires, 60" quick connect bucket, and a BH77 backhoe with a 16" bucket. Should be delivered to my house in about two weeks.

I once again want to thank everyone here for the knowledge gained about the Regen issue. My dealer as well showed me all the extra Regen stuff a B3350 has under the hood. No thanks.

Looking forward to many more years of happy Kabota ownership shortly.

Congrats on the new B2650. I bought mine last June and have over 160 hrs on it. It has been a beast and an awesome machine. I am sure you will be happy. If you ever have any questions feel free to ask me.

Kidding aside I bet the fall colors are just amazing. I've always wanted to take a fall ride on the Harley up the northeast coast.

I relocated from Colorado to the east coast reluctantly. I divorced in 2012 and retired from my company of 25+ years (Hewlett Packard). I decided to move back to the east coast where I lived until 1992. I grew up on a farm in Maryland and selected New England as it was someplace I've visited a lot but never lived. And I have family all along the east coast. After two years in Massachusetts, I determined the commute, housing prices and taxes were too waaaaaaaay too high for me. Along the way I met a wonderful woman from Rhode Island and then found a great new job in Providence and then bought a house 25 miles away in the country just a few miles from the Connecticut border. My property is just a few acres and has a house built in 1971 as a replica of a Colonial home. Lots of work to do in the yard and woods over the next 5 years. And as many of us know, a tractor with a FEL is your best friend for just about any project around the house. Since this picture was taken we've already had the roof replaced and will now begin the next 5 years to make it our forever home. The tractor will come in handy as I turn 60 this July and I want it to do the heavy lifting.

You have to excuse us Midwesterners. Our vision of the East Coast area is nothing like your picture!!!! Forgive my ignorance. Great looking property and a good place to soothe your Soul into retirement!!!!

Question: Is the B2650 big enough to pull a Land Pride RB2672? This is the 6' non-hydraulic blade. Says these are for HP 25-60. I had a 6' Rhino 350 series on my old B3300SU and had no issues. The Land Pride seems to have an even bigger replacable bolt on mold board. Input would be appreciated. Uses are snow removal and driveway maintenance. Pic below is from vendor site.

Tom, I think it will handle it fine. I used to have a B2910 with loaded rear tires and it handled that size blade just fine. If you did get a large bite or filled the moldboard and had trouble you could simply lift it a pinch and relieve some of the load. Might take another pass to finish the job. But hey,,,, more hours on that new tractor right!!!!

I just spoke to my dealer and he felt it would be fine. The Land Pride is listed as 369 pounds which is the entire assembly including the 3 point mount, frame and blade. But the B2650 specs show the 3-point hitch assembly can lift 2139 pounds at the lift point, and 1672 pounds 24" behind the lift point. So even if the blade assembly was 36" (3') behind the lift point it sure seems there's room to spare in the hydraulic specs. Not going to go with a hydraulic adjust as it's more complexity and cost that I need for what I am going to use it for. And my dealer has one in stock in Orange (they come in Orange and the olive color) with a black blade.

Hey Tom,

I don't know the weight specs of mine, but I've used a 6' blade for years to move snow with no trouble. My last tractor was quite a bit lighter than this one and it worked just fine.

Welcome back to TBN and the east coast Tom and congrats on your soon to be new tractor! :drink:I suspect you'll be pleased with Kahn's. I have purchased parts from them in the past for my old tractor and have always liked the staff there. I also got to know one of the salesman from doing some window shopping; great guy. Even bought a used chipper from him on a private sale as he had it sitting in his barn and was not using it. Would have bought my new tractor from them if they could match the price of another dealer that I was also very pleased with.

Sounds like you will have alot of fun completing projects at your new place with your new machine. Post some pictures once you get it.:cool2:

I have used my brother in laws 72" box blade and 72" rotor tiller on mine and it handled them no problem at all.

I bought a 2006 B3030 a few months ago and it's been one of the best toys I've ever bought.

I really like the house. It reminds me of mine which I build 28 years ago.
It has the double roof lines like yours but I added dormers on the lower section.

I always thought the 2650 was a nice size tractor. Big enough to get some real work done yet small enough to get into tight spaces easily and not so heavy that it's damaging to most yards. I really like the cab model that they offer to. I'm surprised to hear that It could handle a 6 foot box blade though. I would think a 5' would be a much better fit.

Signed the final paperwork today and sat on MY tractor. Being delivered on Wed morning. Of course we're getting a foot of snow this weekend and I still need to use the snowblower. My SO sitting on the new tool. Bucket is getting hooks welded on.

A side question.I had the opportunity to pick up a Hydro 2650 w/o an FEL that had only 10 hours on it for 13k. I'm assuming this was a great deal, am I correct? I got my new MF 1726E gear for just under 1k less so I jumped at that. I couldn't swing a deal with my local Kubota dealer and this 2650 was with a JD dealer and I didn't want to have to potentially bring in another dealers Kubota into the local dealership in the future.

I'm still waiting on delivery and haven't actually had a chance to sit on MY new tractor yet.

Jibe: Not sure if that is a great deal or not. I'd use the Kubota "Build my Tractor" tool and then subtract 8-10% from that price to see what a new one costs.

A local eastern CT non-Kubota dealer has a 2013 B3300SU with FEL and 18 hours for $17K. That was a pretty good deal but I passed as it was out of warranty and dealer bought it at an auction so no history. Kubota does NOT have a national data base of services performed on a tractor so you'd have to find the original dealer.
