Just found this site while trying to get some information on a Deutz-Allis 917 garden tractor. I own an old Massey-65 myself, which I use on our 1/4-section for haying and other jobs.
In addition to trying to restore the old farm, I run "Iron Pony Small Engines" - a small-engine sales & service shop in Shaunavon Saskatchewan. I've been working with small engines since I was six years old, and stumbled into this business after fixing a lawn-mower for a neighbour. She said I should open a shop, since there was no-one else in the area doing it. I did some checking, and she was right! Before long I signed up with Briggs & Stratton, Kohler, and Tecumseh. We've also added Kawasaki and Honda, and I tinker with all kinds of other small engines as well. I particularly love the older and antique engines, and hope to eventually learn more about their larger cousins on full-sized tractors and other farm machinery.
