Wrong. The 8 series are built by SAME. The 8060 open station MFWD is around $28000, I've seen these on the local Farmtrac dealer lot, all built in Italy.

AGAIN, you have your series mixed up, take a few seconds and go to their website and see for yourself. The new "8" series (8060 & 8075) are built by Escorts LTD. in India. They mechnically are identical to the 665 & 675 (just look at their specs!!), but have new sheetmetal and cabs. You are thinkg about the 7 series (775, 785, 795, 7115), they are the ones built by SAME.

The 675 has a Perkins engine. I looked at the 775 (I think) with cab and I'm pretty sure it had a Perkins also. 675 is 12 speed and I think the 775 is 15 speed. 675 is 72 hp and 775 is 75 hp. and looked a little beefier.

The 8 series look like Escorts by looking on the Farmtrac website.

I'm a Farmtrac dealer and was told the 8 series is made (assembled?) by a Farmtrac subsidary in Poland. UK Perkins engines. The tractors are available now, but loaders are still pending. 72hp 8075 2wd base priced to sell (after a little negotiation) under 30K before adding the loader. The sloped hood looks nice, might be time to do that to the 4, 5 and 6 series too... the old ford look has served us well, but a bit of modernizaion may be in order....

Leave it alone, please. You could say the same thing about me, but I don't want to be discontinued or modernized.

Anyhow, I 'spect "the old ford look" is the reason a lot of us bought the five series tractors.

I was wrong on the numbers and stand corrected. The 8075 has the perkins at 75hp. Looked at one yesterday at our annual county old tractor show. Also talked to my dealer while there and he says there's a turbo in the works for this engine and maybe others.
