New Holland recently came out with a 60 hp version of the boomer. Does anyone know where they got the extra 5 hp ? I have read the engine from the 45 is the same as the 55, only with the addition of the turbo. I am wondering if the up'd the operating speed and maybe more fuel flow to get the higher stats. I think they dropped the draft control on the three point possibly as a cost saving measure. The axle casting may also be the same as the 55. Wonder how the base price spread between the two.

Engine speed is 100 rpm's more and the price difference is about $1,500.00 over the 55.

So with new stickers and a little encouragement from the governor I too could have a $1500 upgrade. Must be a pretty good engine design that the engine can go from 40-60 hp ( 50% increase ) with little change in the basic components.
Froggy, did you hear they are draft control delete also ? Unless you were plowing it would be of little use I guess.

I've always liked turbo engines because of their wide performance band. If you don't need the power, you don't get up on turbo boost and the engine "putts" along at it's low power configuration. When you need the power, it can provide that also after a little lag to get the turbo spinning.

New Holland is really getting it's money out of the N844 design. The unstroked and unturbocharged engine is the 40 hp model. The long stroke is 45 hp, and the turbo model is 55 hp. It would seem that a little tweaking on the pump and a few more rpm is just the ticket for a little more power in the 60 hp version.

Really wished NH would add the hst option to these larger hp tractors. They would really give JD and Kubota a "run for their money".
