Branson 5835R
I got my Branson 5835R last week. I have been reading the manual and operating it to get use to the controls. The manual for the loader manual describes a float function. The loader control stick has a float position on the knob. However, there is no float detent or function. I called the dealer he checked the tractors on the lot they also had not float function. Supposedly they are getting information from Branson, but I have heard back yet. Has anyone else had this issue? Does anyone have a 5835R with a float function?

Welcome to TBN. That's a nice looking beast!

The float function should engage by pushing the loader control lever all the way forward till you feel it click and detent in place. If it still does not work, it might be out of adjustment.

I've heard sometimes they can be a little stiff when new. Try a short, fast "stabbing" action when pushing the FEL control forwards. With the tractor off, feel the play in all directions on the joystick, so you get an idea of the travel distance of the stick. Then start it up and try "stabbing" it forward, aiming to stop the stab just past the point where the joystick travel would have stopped normally.

We're not "slamming" it forward, just a quick stabbing jab forwards.

Oh, and nice tractor too.

Very nice tractor! Do let us know what the dealer tells you. It should work as the other guys explained.

5835 does not have a float function, it wasn't built with it from factory

Interesting. Does anyone have a picture of the back of the valve?

When I had my 5835 I talked to Scott @ branson and they were waiting for a replacement valve to be developed.

Well according to the dealer Branson received and installed the incorrect valves. They said mine would be replaced when they get the correct valve.
