New 54c mower deck pricing

My x595 came with a 62c deck which I'm in the process of selling. I am interested in buying a new 54c shaft-driven deck, or a very low-hour example.

Will I get the same price from all of the Deere dealers in my area, or are some more open to selling an item like this at a slight discount?

As I see it, dealers will not have any "spare" 54C decks sitting on their shelf. You can ask, as they may have switched something out for a customer. Might even find one with a good discount. Let us know if you do.

Same price from all the dealers? Don't know why, or why not. But would be surprised if more than one dealer in your area has one on the shelf. Could be wrong.

I have one I don't use, as I am not impressed with the mowing of the 54C. I went back to the previous series 400's with the 54" decks (before the new stamping style of the 54C's. Deere lost a lot of mowing quality with their deck change...and I can only see that they were going for a more 'square' look, and forgetting about good air flow under the deck. A lot of mowing debris blows out from under the deck rather than out the chute. May just be my experience, but Deere came out with some "anti-blow" baffles soon after that deck came on the market.

I stopped by the local dealer today and was given a price for a new 54c deck. He sells quite a few of these and can have one brought in from another location within a day.

I just sold the 62c deck for a fair amount and will purchase a new 54c deck this week.
