this happened today - I can't figure out what happened, but the malfunction is definately internal in the transmission. Seems the wet disk stays ingaged - depressing clutch pedal won't dis-engage the clutch. Haven't had it more than 8 months, so I hope dealer will take care of me. I will keep you updated.

Anyone else here have that problem?

Have you checked to see if a wire has been pulled off of a solenoid under the tractor?

Hmm - very possible - but my tractor is a gear driven tractor, not hydro - you still think I should look for a disconnected lead?

I have a wet disk clutch. I don't know if it is mechanical or hydraulic.

any help appreciated.

Most tractors with wet clutches have two clutch packs that are activated by solenoids. I would check to see if any wires are off.

Update - it is mechanical, not hydraulic, and it is a dry disk, not wet. They are coming to get it and I'm sure they will take care of it. Will update you guys when I find out what broke.

OK, here goes as to the official explanation:

There is a threaded rod with nuts on it that controls how the pedal affects the clutch. It the length of the rod is out of whack, no workie. The head mechanic at the dealer walked me through some obvious checks while on the telephone. He suspected a clutch linkage adjustment, and he asked me to describe what I saw - and based on my eyes and his brain he was not sure. They sent the salesman (who has become a pretty good friend, real nice guy and all that) to pick it up. They had it fixed the following day, turns out the clutch linkage had worked itself out of adjustment. I appreciate all the tips here, as i have never owned a tractor before and so much is a learning experience.

We will have to stay in touch. I put in my order for a new 5105 yesterday. Am expecting delivery in three weeks.

I am getting the loader, joy stick, bale spear, and fixed pallet forks. This replaces a 1960 MF Deluxe 35.

Do you have the loader, and if so, how does the shuttle perform in loader work?
