New 4740 Delivered; FINALLY!!!

I took possession of my brand spanking new Kubota 4740 today, and wouldn't you know it, it's starting to rain.

The 4740 is equipped with the heavy duty loader, 6' Brush Hog Squealer shredder, and the 6' box blade. I can't wait to get to work on it; and as soon as I figure out how to download photos from my digital camera, I will post some of my newest "baby."

It was a bittersweet thing to say goodbye to my L2800, as that was my "first" tractor. BUt, I am certain that it will be as strong of a workhorse for its next owner as it was for me.

One of my best friends was at the house when the dealer delivered the tractor. I was on a job (for my church) with the 2800, and on my way back home.

We have had the first casualty for the 4740. My "friend" murdered a pecan tree that I had planted and nurtured for months. Oh well.

Well, an update. The 4740 is sitting right where we parked it the day it was delivered. No hours; no usage; nothing.

My chiropractor instructed me on the 10th that I was to "stay off of the tractor, horses, lawnmowers, and anything else that may jar your spine." Man, did he ever take the joy out of living.....for awhile.

The temps in Midlothian are dropping tomorrow (highs in the 60s), and I feel a mowing job coming on. Not only that, but we are having 100 yards of screened sand delivered to our arena at church, so the box blade and the loader should get some serious usage. Gotta catch up to you guys somehow.

FOR HOW LONG?!?!

Is he kidding? I could see staying off horses, mowers, or "anything else" but I'd have to be on that tractor ASAP! I would take "awhile" to mean a few hours in terms of the tractor!

I can understand staying off the wife and lawn mower!!

But Tractors Are Exempt!!

Come on Don, I'm waiting for the pictures. I ordered my 4740 last week and am still waiting for a delivery date. I need to see your pictures. I am suffering from severe withdrawal so please help me out. Drooling over yours will help me get bye until mine arrives. Please, please, please.
