New 4120 question.

Just received delivery of a new 4120 open station power reverser. Is replacing a 7 year old 3320 which i sold. Man, what a difference in power and torque especially the 400cx loader. I noticed temperature gauge runs at about 60% when warmed up and when running 6 ft cutter holds there normally. On my 3320 gauge would run at about 40% or below half of gauge. Wondering what other 4x20 owners are running temperature wise on their tractors as manual does not indicate what normal range is only that when in red it is out of range and too high.

You're comparing a Yanmar engine to a a Deere built engine. I've had 3 Yanmar powered Deeres and they all ran cool (25-30 percent of scale).
I wouldn't worry about the 4120 engine temperature...and I hope other 4x20 series owners respond with their experiences.

Thank's roy, i have owned three deere's with yanmars a 770,790, and a 3320 all extremely reliable and trouble free. Only upgrading because of acquisition of more acreage. This is my first compact with the deere power tech engine, i'm thinking you're right this is normal for the deere engine. Hoping othe 4x20 owners can back this up........

My 2010 4720 coolant temp runs @ 60-70%. 170 hrs., no problem so far.

My 4320 probably runs 60-70% as well. Just keep an eye on it and be sure to clean out your radiator fins and screens when the temp gets close to the red. I have to do this routinely when I am brush cutting heavy pastures.

I've got a 2011 4120 hydro with 140 or so hours.
Mine warms up to 60 to 70% and stays there no matter what I'm doing.

Looks like all the 4x20 owners are getting the same operating temperatures as bbraud6...which should alleviate his concerns.
