New 25hp tractor purchase

helmdog25, what are your intended uses for your tractor? For example, my L2501HST is very handy for moving small limbs and tree trunks around and grading my driveway, but my MX5200 is so much better for running a 6' rotary cutter through tall, thick vegetation.

So I looked at a Bobcat CT2025 HST today

It was definitely bigger than I want.

They are both basically the same size ...

The Kioti CX series is a tad smaller, but you loose the 3 range transmission, and only have 2 ranges to pick from, and quite a bit less lifting capacity ... But a bit bigger than the SCUT CS ...

Why did you feel it was "too big"?

I agree with above, go sit on, and preferably test drive around the lot a few different models, and see what you you think.

And lots of counter weights in back?
I rarely ever pick up this kind of weight. Only reason I know it will is when my pool was delivered and dropped in my driveway, the sticker showed it weighing like 1756#'s and I was able to lift and move it into the shop. But I do have filled tires an a 700# tiller that I will occasionally strap on to move very heavy things. Usually, my box blade is all I ever need but sometimes even it is not enough.

Generally as a rule, you should have about the same weight behind the rear axle, as you plan on picking up in front ...

A screenshot shot with the numbers from above video, rear tires and wheels don't help with overloaded front axles.

The pivot point is where the loader attaches in the middle of the tractor. Any weight beyond that point helps counter balance. With the 700+ pound tiller on the back, it handles that 1700#'s just fine. I regularly pick up and drive some pretty hefty trees out of the woods with just the filled tires and box blade.

It may have picked it up, and your rear tires stayed on the ground, but that doesn't mean your front axle wasn't overloaded ... Did you even look at the chart? Or watch the video which shows scales to see what various things do?

Finally got opportunity to watch it. I think it was very useful!

That's not how it works ... The loader is basically just a big lever, the front axle is the fulcrum point.
I think I would rather have an overloaded front axle

Until you tip it over!

If you used scales you will see what weights go where, just like the video shows, did you watch it?

If you read the manual for your loader you would see similar to this ...

Notice it's not an "option" ... And ... Also note the weight of a backhoe that's listed just below the purple arrow ... They are not going to install a backhoe, if that weight is going to break the transmission!

Notice how all the pictures of actually using the loader, show rear ballast?

Note how the lift capacity is similar to the weight of the Backhoe!

It's your tractor, and life ... I'm sure you'll continue to do as you like ... But hopefully the OP who is a soon to be new tractor owner will heed the manufacturers manual in regards to safe and proper operation of there loader tractor ...
