New 2305 Owner.

I got my 2305 on the 30th of October and would like to say I am very happy with it. Was able to use the 62mmm for 2 weeks and the FEL quite a bit. Nancy and I bought 6.23 acres on her parents 240 acre farm. We purchased a 345X earlier in the year for the farm yard but since then things have expanded. Thought the 2305 would be a good fit! Have had the chance to really use the FEL before the snow moving gravel around our new 42X72 ft shed. Today was the first day with using the 6ft blade to move snow, yet to say I am still learning and owe my mother-in-law a new car door. The dealer I got this from have been awsome to say the least, CB&C in Cuba City is very good! Everytime an accessory comes in they come out and get the 2305 and right back out they come with it. I have had no major problems and have learned quite a bit on the 20hrs I have on it. Everyday I learn something new though, and today was no exception. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Congrats on the new purchase. I was also looking at the 2305 as my 455 was getting up on hours and I wanted four wheel drive. I ended up with a 4110 which is about as large as I wanted for a mowing / general purpose machine. I have a New Holland TC 45 D for the larger tasks. John Deere builds alot of quality in their equipment. The resale value is also great. I bet the blade caught a frozen object and slid it right where you did not want it to go. Part of the learning curve. Enjoy the Wisconsin weather and look forward to more snow. Remember not to smile while operating the tractor. Congrats on the new unit. Be sure your dealer checked your radiator for fan blade clearance. Mine didn't and I 'm on the second radiator.
Is the front blade the same one that fits the 2210?

Its a 6' rear blade, I was wondering about a front blade, but I dont think it will be as much use as the rear. I found that setting the angle all the way left or right really digs in and pulls all over the place, so I set it at the second position and it works great. As far as Nancy thinking I have too much fun, half the time its working for my father-in-law so she lets me smile all I want. Since I got this< I havent been on any of my Triumphs, so..... snow doesnt help much either. Fitz /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Hi:

I got a 2305 back in September - I have about 35 hours on it. Great Tractor. I have a 72" MM and mow about 5-6 acres full speed with it. Sometimes pull a Cyclone rake behind it. Use the FEL a lot also. I have a rear blade also but opted for the 47" two stage blower up front. The FEL dismounted easily to mount the blower. So far it's worked well for snow removal. I really don't need the blade for snow much since with the hydraulics I can really scrape down to the pavement with the blower. It does work well though for hard crusty stuff and ice. The tractor doesn't move much with the blade, even when I use it for grading. I do have liquid weight in the wheels though I also keep the 3 point swing adjustments pretty tight. If you don't have weight in the wheels you might want to do that.

What's this about the FAN? Should I look at it?

You have a 72" mower??

There is a bulletin about the radiator fan hitting the radiator in an extreme situation. Mine hit while running at full speed across my pasture and hitting a rather large bump. The radiator is rubber mounted and has too much movement. There is a slight amount of adjustment for the radiator mount which may help. My dealer thinks there may be something else in development to fix the problem.

Sorry, I have a 62" mower. I have a 72" rear blade. I'll be sure to check my Radiator mount and see how much play I have. I did look at the clearance and it seemed like I had 2-3" between the blades and the radiator.

Push back on the radiator to see how much clearance you have. Mine moved about 2 inches. When it was leaking I looked and thought there was plenty of room....Wrong /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Its only an issue if you bounce real hard.

I learn something new everyday that I use the 2305. The i-match is a must, I learned that today. It makes things so much easier, works like the front end of a bobcat. Glad to hear you are joining the ranks, you should be happy with it. It pays for itself everyday that you use it. Got mine from CB&C in Cuba City. I'm about 90 miles straight West of Dubuque on Hwy 20 (Cedar Falls). How far East of Dubuque are you? I just sold my Honda Shadow ACE this fall. Not a long time bike owner but I've owned a couple. Love 'em but decided to let mine go.... I've never been to Sindts but have heard very good things. So do you ride over to Sindts on your bike or tractor now? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Btw: Did you go with the 53" bucket on your tractor?

No, the guy on the tractor is a Packer fan and he rides to Green Bay from somewhere by the Mississippi. Ha Ha! I'm a Bears fan! I ride the bike down, can talk to Gary for hrs. I got the 53" bucket, seems to be enough, without ballast you will ride 2 or 3 wheels easy. Cold sweat a few times, but nothing bad. I'm amazed at how much it will actually p/u, really makes it nice picking up the cut up oak trees that we have. It'll pick up a good sized piece and put it in the trailer no problem. A lot nicer spitting it back on the concrete pad than out in the field. You will want to get chains for the snow, and the 6' rear blade is really nice. For snow and for the gravel driveway in the summer. In September we head down to Davenport for the motorcycle swap meet. That is the heaven of vintage stuff to be seen. if I understand that exept for the engine the 2305 is mechanicallly identical to the 2210 then no, haven't had any prob with the hydro sticking. and pay attention to the post by JDFANATIC about the glow plugs, if on the 2305 they work the same as the 2210 (goofy) then this technique works great.

Thanks for your thoughts on the tractor... appreciate it. I've been beating myself over the head trying to figure out the bucket thing. I have a 49" on my 2210 and I planned to get the 53 (not 61) until the dealer said to go with the 61" /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif .

I never took my bike on any real long rides. Mainly used it to get around town or short little drives. I loved my last bike... not a Harley /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif instead it was a 03' Honda Shadow Ace. Sounded perfect, ran superb and looked really sweet. I finally just decided to let it go until my kids are grown and gone. Then I'll decide whether to get another or not. In the mean time I've got plenty of other things that keep my mind off a bike /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif ... Dubuque would have been a pretty ride... never did make the ride over on my bike...

I'm only up to 6 hours with 5 of those hours box blading the wash. Love the 2305, it does everything I need and then some. It was the most comfortable one of the sub-cuts I tested.
