Sometimes on some websites you can't post in certain threads or get posts deleted because the moderator doesn't like you.
That never happens here though.
I think the mod's here do a pretty good job. But often one trigger-happy member clicking "Report" on a post has the mod's deleting it, just because it's easier than dealing with the person doing the reporting.

I don't remember posting anything political in this thread, in fact I can't even imagine what political thing I could say about the Hurricane engine or RAM trucks, which is why it piqued my interest.

It’ll still be here. Just owned by someone else.
I have somehow survived the change from FCA to Stellantis without a hiccup.

Best truck I’ve ever owned and if the new version with a ZF-8 behind a Cummins is what I think it’ll be, I’ll be driving one.
Oh...there was a hiccup.

It was just masked by cheap money.

The chickens have come home to roost.

Do you think they will fix the valve lifter problem with the next cummins?

Rumor I heard was the next 6.7 will have a different head that uses glow plugs instead of grid heater. It will still use hyd lifters and a var of the cp4 pump. No real change in power either.

I guess you can say...they are committed.

However, I think every diesel will have to be redesigned for 2027. The EPA is on a mission to kill off diesels. Maybe something will cause them to reverse course 🍊.

AMERICAN TAXPAYERS TIED TO POTENTIAL FUNDING OF $7.5B LOAN
WASHINGTON DC – American taxpayers may provide a loan of more than $7.5 billion to a joint venture involving automaker Chrysler that plans to build electric vehicle batteries in Indiana. On Monday, the U.S. Department of Energy’s Loan Program Office revealed that StarPlus Energy has received a “conditional commitment” for the multi-billion dollar loan.

Isn't the next generation (not 2025, think 2027ish) Cummins 6.7 coming out in like 3 or 4 fuels, all on the same block; gas, diesel, propane/CNG, hydrogen, and possibly some kinda Ammonia engine? I watched something about it about 4 months ago,

Edit: after further review I'm Way off. 2027ish, 10.0L and 15.0L, nothing in light duty

I’m happy with my 5.7l ram, and I’ve been optimistic about a straight 6 replacement, but the more I look at this Stellantis concoction, the less I’m liking it.

Mother of all things over complicated. Where’s the straight 6 engine block?
Look at that tiny little appendage on the bottom left… oil filter I’m guessing.

The power, torque, and efficiency numbers are all a little better than the hemi, but only a little bit. This complicated ugly monstrosity of a design is a requirement to improve The simple V8 a little bit.

I’m actually changing my mind as I write this and reference the sobering photo. I think I’ll keep my V8 till I finally direct change to a battery vehicle in the future.
Maybe that’s the actual purpose of such a design decision…

Pretty much same. I actually was on the Scout website, considering dropping the $100 reserve fee on a Scout Terra, Harvester option. They are claiming a $60,000 price at launch in 2027. Couple hold backs, so I didn't reserve one.
1) my 2019 Ram should be good for atleast for 10 years,
2) $60,000 is a hard pill to shallow. I bought the Ram in Oct 2019, a used 2019 model, 4wd, crew, full sized bed, big horn trim, for like $32,500 out the door
3) The Scout does sound like a good idea, but.... let's see some production models first

I have a sudden urge to go rustproof, and take better care of my hemi truck 😂
