I never noticed that the hole on the rt side 3pt arm is smaller than the one on the left (sitting on seat). Is this true with all 6000's, or cat II Mahindra's, or is mine an odd ball? I went to attach a new bail spear that uses larger pins on the 3pt attachments. Fits the top link, w/0 sleeve, fits the left arm w/o sleeve, but pin will not go through right arm. The hole on that side is a cat I. It looks like it might have a sleeve in it, but I tried putting a cat II sleeve over it and hitting it with hammer, just bent the sleeve (brass). Can't believe I never noticed this before. Anyone got any ideas why it is this way?

Slippy,
I believe your one arm may be on backwards. Some of the tractors had cat 1 on one end of the arm and cat 2 on the other end. I think this may be the case on your tractor. Check it out and let us know if this is the problem you have. Good luck!

If I'm reading this correctly you are talking about the middle arm of the 3pt. On my 5500 it is as you describe. To use my phd I have to use my pin for the implement side on this arm.

Some of the lower arms were that way also.

I am referring to the rt side lower arm, not the top link. It is the one that has the crank on it to manually raise or lower. I will look at it again, but I can't see how it could be on backwards. I thought the part that comes out from the tractor is straight, and the part that connects to the implement is angled inward toward the pto. But...I will check and thanks.

Not all of the 00 series tractors came through with lower arms with cat 1 on one end and cat 2 on the other but I have seen some that did. That is why I thought that was probably your problem. Other than that possibility I don't know what else could have happened. Good Luck with it.

My 5500 manual and dealer brochure show a ball end with both cat 1 and 2 ends, just roll it around till you get the right size in place. Mine wasn't that way. It has cat 2 only holes and I have to use bushings with just about everything.

Back to the top link. What might be the purpose of having a smaller pin on the tractor end? I bent my 6500 top link, and because of this feature, apparently, I have to get it from Mahindra, which a local dealer "estimated" might cost around $150.

I took a sledge hammer to it and it is workable.

Here is a picture of the lower arm. As you are looking at the picture, it is the right side arm. You can even tell that the pin on the right is smaller than the one on the left. I don't see how it could be on backwards. There is a bend in the end that attaches to the tractor, and the check link and verticle arms would not be in the right place. Is the ball in the end replaceable?

Here are two more pictures. They are of the opposite side, but show where it attaches to tractor.
