I think my starter is bad on my yanmar. It won't turn over and I have tried to jump the solenoid posts with a screwdriver to no avail. It has been making a bad noise lately, but won't budge now.
I have used several replacement parts (alternator and regulator) with those from a 1972 datsun. I called a local auto store and they have a starter with solenoid for a 1972 datsun. Do you think this will work? I plan to take mine and see if it matches up. The price they gave me is $29.99 with a $10 core.
Has anyone had to replace the starter on their yamar ym240?
Mine has a sticker where it was rebuilt already so rebuilding it again probably isn't an option.
