The photo worked.
Thats a fair amount of mowing every week. I would want at least 6' finish mower.
The CK 20 is nice but I think a 60" mower is all they will run.
The 3054 will run a 6' mower, but they are not availible with a mid mount mower, only a 3 point finish mower.(I run a 3 point finish mower and it works fine for me).
A DK 35 is availible with a 6' mid mount mower or can run a 6' or 7' 3 point mower. But they are a fairly large and heavy tractor. I use mine for field mowing and finish mowing and if the ground is wet it will at times leave some tracks in the yard, but nothing that bothers me.
I'm attaching a picture of my DK 35.

Hey Vince-

Where did you get the teeth for you loader bucket? Are they on a toothbar or do they attached to the bucket directly?

It makes you tractor look like a real bad_ _ _ (I'm trying to avoid profanity, you know). I think the way it looks would make even 50 or 75 horsepower tractors think twice before they picked on it!!

It is a WR Long toothbar from Carver Equipment (60", around $305 delivered), slips over the bucket edge and held in by 2 bolts so its easy to install/remove.

I'm looking for a new CUT to knock down the dead scrub oak on my hilly 5 acres here in Colorado. Would the CK20 have the power to pull a 60" brush hog over steep hills? My Ford 8N is lacking in the power department and I’m getting to old for the excitement of bad brakes. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Is the CK20 the same size as the Kubota BK23? When will the CK25’s and CK30’s come out?

The CK20 is a little to small of a unit to be using a 5ft cutter. I would stick with a 4ft unit or 52" at the max. The new CK25 and CK30 should be out sometime this spring to mid summer from what i hear. If you really want hydro then i would hold out for the CK25 or 30 if i were you. If you don't need hydro then check out the LK2554 or LK3054.

The CK20 is physically a bit bigger than the BX23. The engine and PTO HP on both units are about the same. The CK20 does weigh in about 400lbs more than the BX23. It also has a higher flow hyd pump vs the BX23. 7.66Gpm on the CK20 vs. 5.5gpm on the BX. CK20 also has more lift capacity on the 3-pt.

I was thinking I needed something over 25hp, but the CK20 looked pretty good from what I’ve read on TBN. Thanks for the input. Maybe it would be cheaper to include a new 48" brush cutter in a package than buying a larger tractor if the CK20 has the power to bash through the scrub oak.
