Need Help

I have a L1500 and I am having a hard time finding a oil filter that fits. It's not a canistertype that everybody tries to sell to me. Its the type that fits into a metal cup that bolts to the oilpump. I also will need to rebuild the trans soon the reverse keeps poping out. anybody have any good place to by gears to rebuild trans? is it the same gears as the L175 I hope.

Any help would be great

Fill in some more profile info and tell us some more about yourself and your tractor. There aren't many of us with "old clunkers" here !!!

My L1501 has the spin-on cartridge type and I had no trouble finding one.

Sounds strange yours has that type. Maybe there is an adapter or something?

Mine was available at an auto parts store and I once had an (old) car with one of those types of filters on it, so maybe take it and for a match.

Your L1500 is the same as early L175.The oil filter is a canister type that should be available at NAPA or Carquest stores.Get them to ck a filter for L175.Should be the same.Trans jumping out of reverse on these Kubs usually means reverse idler is worn out.
