need help understanding pump mount measurments

Hey guys. I'm trying to find an SAE 2 pump mount that will fit face to face with a 22 HP gas engine. Surplus Center doesn't have it. Most seem to call for a 6.5 inch bolt circle. Closest circle on my 22 HP Harbor Freight Predator motor is about 6.375 (or 6 and three eighths inches) Measuring bolt circle from center to center or outside of bolt to center of circle (like bolt circles for the wheels on a car are measured), I can't find a 6.5 inch circle. Anybody got any ideas. Thanks much. memphisark

Is your pump a two bolt mount?

Run 2 bolts in the opposing holes and measure to the outside of one and the inside of the other. That is the simplest way for myself to get a accurate measurement if in doubt. The 6.500" bolt circle is a pem-g-flange, that seems to be the most common one. Harbor Freight should be able to tell you the mount also. I would say that is what you have. About the pump mount, is it a 4F17,AA, A,B,C and how many bolt holes? The only other thing you need to know is the 2 combined shaft lengths for the face to face spacing. CJ

redrilling is only possible if the pilot diameter on the flange matches the motor. If the pilot diameters don't match it would be a real challenge to get the shafts aligned properly.
