I am baffled! I was using my professional 12, and a quick attach non-square
blower. It is a two stage blower, with the whole drum that turns to determine blowing direction. I have not used this thing for a while, and wanted to blow the snow away from around the house, before the impending thaw. I just got chains for it, and new rubber!
Man was it blowing snow! Brought a smile to my face, and that doesn't happen all too often! Then in the thidk of it, the auger quit, while the impeller kept going. I cleared it out and can't understand what I am observing. The auger started working again! Yes, I read something about a clutch, in another post, and this is what I suspected. But when I jam one auger, I can see something just a little smaller then the diameter of the Auger tube, spinning, ON BOTH SIDES! And both sides stop, when one side is jammed!
Can someone explain this magic to me, and what I can do to fix, the situation, that the auger won't move much snow, before stopping! It was working just great, and maybe I overdid things a bit!
Also, the tire chains work awesome, even though they chew up the grass. They are sloppy, and I wonder how tight they should be? On one side, the sloppiness is threatening the brake mechanism.
Also, I am going to have to do something about putting counterweight
on the rear, because it takes just about al my weight (200 LBS) to keep the front of the blower from digging into the unfrozed ground. Any suggestions? I was going to have a friend laser cut out some 1/2 plates to bolt onto the rear, but ideally, the weight should hang out, good and far. Any body else done anything like this?
