The dealer I purchased my CK-30 from may or may not continue to be a dealer for KIOTI. If he chooses not to continue as a dealer, what kind of position does this place his customers in as far as warranty work on units he may have sold? How does one approach another dealer when warranty work or service has to be done? My dealer has always treated me well and I wish him well in whatever he chooses to do, but ... what do I do? Any input would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear about losing your dealer. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

That can make things difficult for sure!

Have you talked with your dealer to see if he might recommend another dealer to take over his clients? My wife runs her own business, and since we're both retiring, she's been slowly reducing her client base. But she lets every one of her clients know the name of at least two other businesses that offer the same services. Of course, she had discussed this with the other businesses before giving out their names. But this way, she knows that her clients are going to be well taken care of once she's done.

The guys that own Kioti's may be able to answer this even better, but any Kioti dealer would have to perform warranty work on a Kioti tractor. It's just a matter of whether they would make you wait because you didn't purchase it from them.

Hopefully all of this will be a mute point if your dealer helps you out.

Good luck! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I wish to thank you for your support and encouragement, but I cannot see myself transporting my CK-30 to Pa. for service or warranty work from N.H.. My experiences to date have left me a little concerned. In speaking to one dealer, the first question asked by him was "where did you buy it?" After that, the conversation got a little cool. I never shopped the price of the tractor, just saw it, ran it, and bought it. When you have a new tool, you want to be assured that if it fails, even in a minor way, it can and will be repaired and back to work.

The warranty is the Manufacturers warranty. The dealers contract to honor that warranty with Kioti. It is human nature to feel snubbed when someone buys a tractor from a distant dealer for a few less $$ then wants a closer dealer to do warranty work, but in the case of a dealer closing down, I would think the next closest dealer would want to pick up these customers! I would suggest that if after expaining your dilema to a nearby dealer, if you cant get the help you need, get in touch with Kioti and ask them to find you someone that will honor their warranty, your district manager should know the quality dealers in your area.

One thing we dealers need to remember, warranties run out but customer relationships can last a long time and may even result in additional, future sales. It amazes me that dealers will spend thousands on advertising, and then run off a potential customer that walks in the door with a problem he bought elsewhere... This will change, if not by Kioti's intervention, then by the process of natural selection...

i don't think you'll have a problem - the manufacturer will stand by the unit, as will any dealer. perhaps you will not get the same level of service with another dealer (after all, that dealer didn't reap the benefit of selling you the tractor), but you shouldn't expect any problems with warranty/service work.

it may be inconvenient (if you're located on the seacoast area of NH, and the dealer is 1.5 hrs inland) for service requests, but it's unfortunate result of a dealer who is moving on..

please let us know who your dealer is - it would be beneficial to members of the forum.

good luck!

I agree that you shouldn't have a problem receiving service from another Kioti dealer. Also, I believe Kioti will pay any tractor dealer to do the warranty work if you don't have a dealer that can perform the service. After all, it's a tractor, and they're not that different between brands.
Unless you just come up against a dumb dealer who doesn't realize the benefits of helping out a customer in his/her time of need as regards repeat business, you shouldn't have any problem.
Kioti insists that all dealers honor warranty work regardless of purchase location.
You can always claim you just moved to the area and need a good dealer!

I am not sure Wallace was saying come to him to get service. He has honestly given me some good feedback on how to get better service or other information to make it easier for me. I live in Oregon so he is on the other side of the country, he is a good guy if you haven't found a solution or are having problems I think Wallace might be able to tell you who else you can contact within Kioti and possibly get you in contact with someone local to you. I am sure in the end you will end up with good service from someone within the network I personally would give Wallace a call as he might be personal friends with a local dealer close to you as they do occasional get together at different times of the year.
