need advice on 4' bushhog

I put one on a Bushhog 306 I restored.

I was borrowing my neighbors tractor as i keep mine at the farm. I just needed the FEL to lift an implement off saw horses and put in the shed. The BH was hooked up and i looked at it as i saw thier covers. It was a 5ft bushhog Squeeler. It had metal sheetmetal bolted over the front and rear of the thing. This is on a JD855 tractor. I was thinking that it would take a lot more HP to clear all the grass clipping from the thing. On the other hand it will chop them up finer, but thats what requires the HP!!! I like the back open on mine so that the grass can clear fast. I mow usually way out in fields not near houses so its no big deal to me.
