Buying Advice Need Advice for tractor to support 20 acres

Hi Guys, Yes i went through new holland, cheaper than from my homeowners provider (state farm). homeowner's only covers on my property, the new holland will only finance if you have coverage OFF your property. so i went with them to get them for the price, i only get the coverage 'cause i wanted the 0% financing

Jinman, I got a quote of $2000 for two remotes and a grill guard.. seems like a lot.. I think pineridge gave full details on his link on how to install the remotes yourself.. looks straightforward enough to do.. I imagine it's considerably cheaper to do so. I wanted to order a rear mower for ~$1300 but was afraid i'm be too much of a novice to lift it off the truck when my rig arrives they forced me to buy the inland marine, so that adds like ~$130/month to the payment what can ya do... cheers

The remotes should be around $500 each. I paid less than $500 for two remotes in 2004, but recently New Holland decided to raise the price. The grill guard is about $200. So $1000 for the remotes and $200 for the grill guard would be $1200. If your dealer wants $2000, he is "stickin' it" to you. Have you checked with Corriher in North Carolina for a comparison price? You may be getting 0% interest, but they are reaching around behind you and "taking money out of your wallet" to give you that price. You are paying premium prices for everything it seems to me.

I know the remote price has went up. i had to have one of my remote packs replaced.. parts were going to be nearly 700$ new.. luckily i found an almost new one for half that..

Jinman, Corriher is who i purchased the whole thing from.. best price by far, i probably forgot to mention but their shipping ran me $1300 so that's why my low price is seemingly high. they deliver on a flat bed so $50 from a tailback to get it off. Thx

130 a month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! $1560 dollars a year extra for insurance????? Imagine after 4 years how many nice attachments you can buy for $6,240 dollars

Just got a new inland marine policy on my tractor (picking it up this weekend) and it will run $113 per year with a $100 deductible. Coverage is fire, theft, rollover ect. both on and off property coverage. This won't cover me if I use it for business.

I guess we chose my tractor, thanks! What would be a good size/value mower to use for 12 acres of grass/weeds... I really dont think there's any sapplings just weeds, thus i'm guessing a finish mower. I know of this handy link Landscape Pro--Exmark Mfg. Inc.--Productivity for size of blades and speed given acres per hour. However, I'm clueless as to what speed (mph) you guys can cut your lawns at (i assume i'm pretty darn flat). i'm gueesing 6'? plz help me make a good purchase given your experience.. thanks much -Tim
