Jinma, itemized, the 458C is $6,900 from one dealer.... Will I use it? i hope so :) I know my pole barn doesnt have electric, so maybe i can dig a trench and save some $$$. also maybe for propane to the pole or for tree planting ? my brother says i need one.. i should ask him why huh? :) hes been a heavy equiptment operator for like 31 years.. knows deere/cat/komatsu/paving stuff but NOTHING AT ALL about compacts, subs, or ag stuff... :)

Gentlemen, thank you all so much for the valuable information! I'm running my info through CNH capital for the 0% 0 down financing.
2006 tc40d w/ 16la qa and 758c hoe. I can't wait to post a picture of me of my children around this beautiful beast within the next few weeks!!!

im late to the game... but ill toss in my .02....

ive got a 33hp class 2 for my wittle itty bity (not quite) 5 acers. there are days when i look at it thinking i was crazy for buying that much... then there are days im in the seat thinking if i just had a bit more power.... :cool:

my point... if i ever upgrade the property anything in the teens pluss in size is fare game for class3. (obiously depends on your property type...)

Are you paying $9,000 for a backhoe? You can rent a lot of "real" backhoe from your local rental place for $9,000. How much will you have to use your 758C to justify that cost?

When I was looking at a TC40DA, I thought about a backhoe. The dealer made the same comment you just made, "how much are you going to use the backhoe?". I removed the BH from my bid requests. No regrets. I really wanted a BH, but realistically, would never use it often enough to justify buying one versus renting.

Well......if it's a choice between an air conditioned / heated Cab or Backhoe, I also would select the latter. Hey, if you got the bucks & don't mind spending a little (ok....alot) go for it....you only live once. Those guys are just jealous as am I. ;)

I have only a 16 HP tractor to look after 68 acres and 1/2 mile of access road.:D

About 12 acres under play farm conditions and the rest in timber and rocks.:D

Well, I didn't notice the tax was added to the original posted prices, but you will have to make your own decision about the backhoe. I still would recommend the remotes and the grill guard.

Jinman, I got a quote of $2000 for two remotes and a grill guard.. seems like a lot.. I think pineridge gave full details on his link on how to install the remotes yourself.. looks straightforward enough to do.. I imagine it's considerably cheaper to do so. I wanted to order a rear mower for ~$1300 but was afraid i'm be too much of a novice to lift it off the truck when my rig arrives :) they forced me to buy the inland marine, so that adds like ~$130/month to the payment :( what can ya do... cheers

Did you look into the New Holland Insurance they offer? It's pretty good insurance and it's cheap. I pay $14 a month. Even covers if I break the tractor in half, covered on and off the property and when I have to trailer the tractor to a location.

I just provided a fax from my homeowners agent that specified that the tractor was covered and bought none.
