Need a tractor shipped

Hello Gang,
I usually hang out in the Chinese tractors section, but I need to ship my father-in-law's New Holland 65hp tractor (cab model) with bucket and bush-hog from Marlboro NY to Scottsville VA. That's not a terribly long trip. You might get a better price from a local guy with a rollback who wants to make some money on a weekend. I did that and saved hundreds over a hauler. Ask around at a couple of auto body places in your town for a reference. Make sure the guy has insurance, etc.

Go to Antique Tractors - Yesterday's Tractors : Antique Tractor Headquarters and look / post in the "Hauling" section. Guys with empty back hauls post there and you can get killer rates. I had a tractor hauled 350 miles for 300 bucks. That was just a bit more than fuel cost for me to go myself and a lot more convenient!.

Don't take their word that they have insurance. I have a friend who owned a wrecker company and he was insured to the max. However, there are exclusions to what he can and can't haul. We both enjoyed metal working machines, and he couldn't haul them, unless he owned it. All of my equipment was "owned" by him at some time.

How much does it weigh?

With the cab, bucket, and bush-hog, it should be right around 10,000 lbs.

Shipment completed with BilcoTrans, booked through UShip. Rates were amazingly low and the bids were very competative. Tractor made it to the new farm with no worries. I had such a good exerience, I even used UShip to bring a Woods BW1800 from Michigan to Virginia to give the tractor a workout. Thanks for the tips!
